A graduate of the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, Maren has written for National Geographic Adventure, San Diego Magazine, New York Magazine, San Diego Citysearch, Fodor's Travel Guides, and the North County Times. She has also worked for Chicago Magazine, Teen People, and Survivors of Torture, International, a San Diego-based nonprofit organization that serves refugees and asylum seekers.
