SDG&E® Makes Home Energy Improvements Affordable with up to $4,000 in Incentives

Mar 09, 2011

San Diego Gas & Electric® is pleased to announce the launch of Energy Upgrade California™, a new statewide program that offers single-family owners up to $4,000 for making select, energy-saving home improvements.

Select Your Contractor

Whether you have a project in mind or need help coming up with just the right energy-saving solution, your Energy Upgrade California contractor will be there every step of the way. Participating contractors will work with you to find where your home is using energy and suggest the qualifying projects that will save you the most.

Choose Your Plan

There are two easy ways to participate in Energy Upgrade California:

The Basic Path of the Energy Upgrade California program offers $1,000 in incentives when you complete a list of select, energy-efficient upgrades. Energy-saving measures include attic insulation, sealing air leaks, and installing a thermostatic shut-off valve on your shower to save hot water and the energy used to heat it.

If you’re ready to do — and earn — the most, consider Energy Upgrade California’s Advanced Path. This flexible option allows you to select the upgrades that make the most sense for your home — and your wallet. The Advanced Path offers incentives ranging from $1,250 for 10% energy savings to $4,000 for 40% energy savings when a participating contractor installs a comprehensive mix of measures based on a pre-approved work plan. Examples of eligible upgrades include high-efficiency heating and cooling systems, energy-efficient windows and skylights, and tankless or solar water-heating systems.

Enjoy Your Savings

Energy Upgrade California helps you save in so many ways: rebates help you save on the cost of energy-efficient upgrades, and the upgrades help you save energy and money for years to come. To learn more, visit
