The nation's largest multi-sport museum boasts memorabilia reflecting San Diego's sporting legacy. More than an archive of San Diego sports, this 70,000-square-foot facility on three levels is a center that encourages visitors to be participants as well as observers. In 2012, the Hall opened a new, state-of-the-art exhibit celebrating the sport of sailing and all that it means to San Diego. Junior and Star Boat sailing, early stages of the sport, Olympic and International success, and the science of the sport are all be featured. There is also a room dedicated to the America’s Cup, including models, half models, and important imagery and information about the oldest international sporting trophy in continuous competition.
