FINAL DAY!!! Body Worlds and The Brain--Our Three Pound Gem: The Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies
Mar 5, 09 thru Oct 4, 09
OPEN UNTIL 10:00pm! Last ticket sold at 8:00pm!
Venture inside the minds and bodies of dozens of carefully preserved and flayed cadavers at the latest iteration of the international exhibition sensation, Body Worlds, at the San Diego Natural History Museum.
Over 200 real body specimens, including 20 whole bodies, form part of Gunther von Hagens’ BODY WORLDS 2 & the Brain—Our Three Pound Gem: The Original Exhibition of Real Human Bodies. Since 1995, Gunther von Hagen’s pioneering method for preserving and presenting organic tissue, called plastination, has allowed over 26 million exhibition-goers around the world to view firsthand the beauty of the human machine’s inner workings alongside examples of the toll disease and poor lifestyle choices exert on organs, muscles, and tissue.
Taking this approach one step further, Body Worlds 2 & the Brain will feature a new section that examines the human brain’s ongoing transformation from birth to old age, drawing on the latest findings in neuroscience on brain development, function, and performance, as well as disease and disorders.
Due to the unique nature of this engagement, special tickets, ranging in price from $27 (adult) to $11 (child) are required and may be purchased at the museum or online.
