Since inception, BPOC has completed more than 500 person-days of training for staff of member organizations. We have held workshops for member institutions on topics such as Drupal coding, social media, collections management systems, mobile devices, and ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) web accessibility.
We have also started a Wounded Warrior Technology Internship Program with funding from the Gary and Mary West Foundation. Through six months of on-the-job training with BPOC's technical staff, young individuals from the nearby Warrior Transition Units at Naval Medical Center San Diego learn valuable technology skills that will help them to attain employment in the civilian sector. If you're a current or former service member interested in this program, please contact Tracie Umbreit for additional details.
