Checkin’ out the Rose Garden

Dog\'s eye view of the rose garden

Every day at lunchtime my owner, whom I affectionately call mom, takes me for a walk, my favorite time of the day. There are usually lots of other dogs walking their humans at this time, so I make lots of new friends.

This week, we walked across the footbridge by the Natural History Museum to the Rose Garden . This is truly the best time of year to see the roses! With over 1,750 bushes in 125 varieties, I’d normally say I had died and gone to doggie heaven, but I have to exercise restraint here and not add my own scent to the spectacular bouquet of flower fragrances. After all, this place was ranked the 16th best rose garden in the world by the World Rose Society.

After walking around the roses and seeing all the different colors (I’m not completely color blind, you know), we took a quick trip through the adjacent Desert Garden . As much as I’d like to check out all these fantastic-looking plants from around the globe, 1,300 in all, with my nose, I have to be extremely careful not to turn my snout into a pincushion…like the last time I visited here!

Randy - A close up

This is my friend Randy. He never visits the Park as he hates riding in the car, but I bet he would like watching the fish in the Koi Pond.
